Types of Safeguard Dental Insurance Plan

There are two types of safeguard dental insurance plan, which include Classic and Premier Plan. Needless to say, the Premier plan offers more discount and coverage, but it comes with higher price compared to Classic plan. What about the price? The safeguard insurance will cost you around $39.95 for the single plan, $57.95 for one and dependent plan, and $79.95 for the family plan. These cost are paid monthly, with one time administration fee of $5.

Before you go and apply for the safeguard dental insurance plan, it is strongly recommended to see the list of the supported network, available from the Safeguard official website. The safeguard website is not the easiest to navigate, but it is comprehensive and there’s contact support available too. After seeing the list, you should select a general dentist from their directory. Of course, you and your dependents get to choose a different one if you want.

To see the complete list of dentists, you just have to go to safeguard.net, and from there you click the Dental & Vision Directories. After that, choose Visitor >> Dental HMO and your state. Select the plan you’re on from the scroll down menu. You will be able to search for a dentist based on zip code, county, city or even by name.

With the dental care plan, you are eligible to get two routine cleanings per year, X-Rays and fillings for free. The insurance is using a co-pay method instead of discount, which is great. Some of the co-pays include:

  • $5 Extractions, Office Visit & Second Opinion
  • $110 Deep Cleaning Per Quadrant
  • $125 Bleaching Per Arch
  • $245 Crowns + Lab
  • $250 Veneers (for Perfect Looking Teeth)
  • And over 346 Treatments Codes (Very Comprehensive)

The safeguard dental insurance plan review is varied based on the customers. Some are highly satisfied (the co-pays method saves a lot of money, while getting the equal treatment quality), while other are less satisfied (mainly because it only support three states and the site is a bit hard to navigate).
